Why Donate?

We cover most costs out of our lessons and boarding fees, but lately the vets bills and other expenses for our horse rescue operation have shot through the roof. Most of you know we never beg and have kept our costs and prices competitive, but lately its been just too much. Please make a donation. Now!

So far your response has been wonderful, but several donors suggest we allow the payments to go directly to our vendors, so there can be no suggestion of mismanagement... a sad but honest thought in these troubled times.
To allow this we have set up accounts with our vendors:

To make a donation send checks or money orders to any of the following vebndors, listed in no particular order:

Most of the horses we use in our program are older; retired racehorses, hunters & ranch horses. Most have been saved from going to slaughter in Texas or Mexico, or come from people who have rescued them once already or can no longer keep them for the same economic factors we are facing.

Older horses require more care:

Veterinary care: As they age, horses teeth deteriorate, requiring
special floating. Often medication is required to treat arthritis, and
other problems.  Regular worming and vaccinations.

Diet:  Due to lack of teeth, older horses need special feeds and supplements.

Shoeing and Farrier care: Many need special trimming and shoes to help with old
injuries/conformation defects and arthritis.

While many of our horses earn their keep by giving lessons, some are
retired and their welfare is just as important to us.

Your donation will help us to ensure our horses maintain the high
standard of care that they have become used to at Epona Farms.
Think of us as a rest home for semi-retired horses and ponies.

Thanks for caring.... Hank and Triona
