Special Needs Students

Below: Focus training for older kids with special needs. Here an 18 year old autistic rider seems to be shielding his eyes, but in fact he is pressing his forehead to help him focus. In this exercise the rider learns confident control with one hand and tends to forget about the guide walking along side.

Right above: Here the student learns to ride with both hands, heels down for balance and it is obvious the lead rope is very loose. In this case the rider is actually "riding" the horse, eventually the student becomes confident enough to walk the horse without the lead rope.


Right: Here the student is listening to commands from the instructor who is standing about 10 meters away. All of these exercises are designed to increase focus
